Career

Wade is a graduate of Labette County High School ('71), Labette Community College (A.A. in Humanities, '73) Pittsburg State University (B.G.S. in General Studies, '75 and M.S. in Psychology, '76) and, finally, the University of Arkansas (Ed. D. in Counselor Education, '83).

Over the years Wade has worked as an Instructor at Seminole Junior College and Kansas City Kansas Community College, a counselor in Mental Health Centers, Substance Abuse Treatment, Family Counseling, a halfway house for Cuban Refugees, a union organizer, a community organization research specialist and a host of other jobs. Wade as also an Assistant Professor in Counseling and Psychology at St. Francis College, Ft. Wayne, IN in the late 1980s to early 1990s. He is currently an Associate Professor at North Dakota State University (NDSU) in the Counselor Education program, and hasbeen there since 1992. Wade both teaches and pratices the Person-Centered Approach, developed by Carl R. Rogers.

 

Wade is an active member of the North Dakota Public Employees Association, AFT Local 4660, AFL-CIO and President of Chapter 42 and serve on the Board of Directors. He is also Chief Steward and have handled many grievances and represented members in meetings with their bosses. I am also an active member of the American Association of University Professors. Lastly, i am active member of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) and one of the Organizers of the Red River IWW Organizing Committee.

Wade has been active in a wide range of community organizations over the years. He was the co-founder of Red River Anti-War Coalition (which was disbanded four years ago).
